A hawk watches Kara as she works outside at the barn. It flies into the barn and Kara hears Shelby barking. She goes in and spots a figure moving in the shadows, who emerges to reveal itself as Brainiac. He offers her the chance to go back and make things the way they were, but she refuses. When Brainiac attacks her, Clark arrives and throws him outside, and Brainiac flies away at superspeed.

Clark explains to Kara that it's Brainiac they've fought and wonders if he might have been working with Kara's father. Kara doubts it and suggests they take to the skies… together.

Lois is working at the Planet and trying to come up with a story when Jimmy suggests they work together. Lois spots a report on the discovery of Patricia Swann's corpse.

Lex's assistant reports to him that everything is almost ready and Lex admits that his father has been concealing things for years. After he was shot in Detroit, he's been having memory flashes. He thinks back to when he, Patricia Swann, Oliver Queen, and Jason Teague played hide and seek in the manor. Hiding in the closet, Lex overhears Lionel talking with Robert Teague and Edward Queen. Lionel accuses them of working against him. They have an envelope and Lionel notes it contains a secret that will give them ultimate power. The group, Veritas, agreed not to open the envelope unless the Traveled proved a thread. They're interrupted by a sound at the door and when Lionel and Teague go to investigate, young Lex sees Edward Queen holding a key… a key that is in Patricia Swann's locket in the present. Lex directs his assistant to go to Zurich and find the bank it belongs to.

Lionel arrives at his office, unaware that Lois and Jimmy have slipped in disguised as workers. They slip into his office to get his comments on the death of Patricia Swann but he refuses to talk to them until they note that Lionel talked to her on the phone, and her locket was missing in her autopsy photos. Lionel considers the missing locket and then has security usher them out. After they leave he removes his own locket, which contains a key.

At the barn, Kara tries to get Clark to fly but he gives up and insists they spend time trying to track down Brainiac. They conclude that Brainiac is a computer and needs energy.

Lana is at Isis when the power to her computers flickers. Brainiac appears behind her and then drives a mental probe into her brain. He then smiles in satisfaction.

Clark meets Chloe at the Planet after discovering that Patricia Swann is dead. She's been unable to determine any connection between Lex and Veritas, but has been using her connections to track power surges tied to Brainiac. She finds a power surge in Metropolis near the Isis foundation and Clark goes to investigate. Lionel is there leaving a note and tries to get Clark to listen, but Clark accuses him of killing Patricia and the others. Lionel admits that there are things he needs to tell Clark and tries to give him his locket, but Clark refuses to listen. He does say that the receptionist said Lana had a visitor. After Clark leaves, Lionel leaves an envelope for Lana marked "Urgent."

Clark arrives at the farm to find Lana holding a pot of boiling water. Clark pulls her away but Lana doesn't notice the burns on her hand. Her eyes are silvered over and she doesn't respond to him. Kara comes in and Lana responds to her by writing a note in Kryptonian, saying to deliver Kara to the Planet. Kara superspeeds off while Clark is occupied trying to get through to Lana.

Lois and Jimmy break into Isis, having followed Lionel there. They find the envelope and discover a file on Patricia Swann's driver, who has disappeared. There is also a note from Lionel to Lana saying that he's innocent. Finally, there's a photo showing the driver was hired by Lex.

Lex's assistant reports to him saying that the bank is refusing access unless two keys are presented for the high-security deposit box. Lex remembers playing outside his father's office just after the Queens died, and Lionel having a key recovered from the bodies. Lionel then talked to someone and saying they need to control the Traveler. Lionel then took Lex to Smallville, on the day of the meteor shower.

Kara is on the roof the Planet to deliver herself when Clark arrives and tries to persuade her to leave. She refuses and Brainiac arrives, noting he is the only one who can reverse Lana's condition, and only if Kara goes with him. Kara agrees and she and Brainiac both fly off into space and an explosion occurs at their location.

Lionel goes to Chloe to plead his case and insist that he didn't kill Patricia Swann. He claims to be a different man since being chosen by Jor-El as his vessel. Lionel warns that Clark has turned away from Jor-El and now he's in danger, and he begs her to listen, saying something terrible is coming. She ignores him and leaves, going to see Clark at the clinic where he has taken Lana. She is still trapped under Brainiac's conditioning and says he's too late.

Season 7 - Episode 14 ( Traveler )

Lionel is in his office when he receives an unmarked envelope sealed with wax. Opening it, he finds a note and is taken aback at its contents.

Clark goes out to the barn and gets the metal octagon from its hiding spot. He hears a noise and someone shoots him with a taser filled with kryptonite. His attacker, a soldier named Pierce, comes after him and Clark manages to knock him down and free himself. Other soldiers come in and hit Clark with a number of taser cords, immobilizing him.

Lana and Chloe arrive at the barn shortly thereafter and Lana reveals they had learned that Kara was staying with Lex and Clark was going to take her to the Fortress to unlock her memories. Chloe finds the octagon key and realizes Clark left for some other reason, and Lana finds a kryptonite taser dart.

Clark wakes up in a kryptonite-lined cage and Pierce increases the radiation to keep him weakened. Clark tries to bust through the bars without success and Pierce increases the radiation yet again.

Lionel flies by helicopter to a meeting with Patricia Swann, Dr. Swann's daughter. She inherited her father's estate after his death and has gone through all of his research. Four families gathered to discuss the Traveler from another planet: the Queens, the Teagues, the Swanns, and Lionel. They formed a secret group, Veritas, to protect the Traveler, but all of them are now dead except Lionel. Patricia accuses Lionel of killing all of them and says she has proof that her father left her, showing that Lionel wanted the Traveler for himself. She demands that Lionel release the Son of Krypton or she'll expose the evidence. Lionel denies her accusations and warns her that she's out of her league.

At the manor, Kara is going over her records when Lex comes in. She's reluctant to undergo Lex's proposed treatment to recover her memories but finally agrees. Lex then meets with his assistant doctor, who is monitoring Kara. He insists that they go ahead with the recovery operation, which will be ready the next day. He tells the doctor lock the place down if Kara displays any signs of recovering her memories.

Lionel arrives at the abandoned airstrip and orders Pierce to stop torturing Clark. Later at his office, he is talking with someone over the phone that he disagrees with when Lana and Chloe arrive. He lies to them, saying he's trying to check out government agencies, and identifies the taser dart for them. They suspect Lionel as the only other person who knows Clark's memories, but Lionel diverts suspicion to Kara and Lex and says he recognizes the technology as belonging to a military research firm that Lex owns. Lana vows that if Lex harms Clark, she'll kill him, but Lionel insists on handling Lex himself.

The next day at the Planet, Lana confirms Lex's ownership while Chloe locates the building where Clark might be kept… but Lionel ordered the construction. Chloe insists they need Kara to break into the facility and Lana tells her about an escape passage they can use to sneak in.

Patricia goes to the manor to meet with Lex. He notices the locket she's wearing, which Dr. Swann gave to him before he died. She gives Lex a gift: a painting Lex did as a child of the Luthor crest, with a V formation in it. Patricia mentions Veritas as a secret organization and suggests he talk to Lionel. Lex goes to Lionel to show him the painting and accuse him of murdering the other Veritas members. Lex promises to go to Patricia to get answers. After he leaves, Lionel calls Patricia and says he's ready to make a deal.

Lana and Chloe pack up equipment and head for the escape passage located in the hills. Lex prepares to take Kara to the recovery operation when the feed is cut off. Lex orders a security shutdown while Lana and Chloe find Kara and ask her to leave with them. Lex and his men arrive to find Kara gone.

At the airstrip hanger, Pierce tortures Clark further. Chloe takes Kara to the Fortress through the portal and tries to contact Jor-El. Chloe explains what is going on and that they need Kara's memory and powers to help Clark. The Fortress comes alive and Kara is enveloped in light and regains her memory and powers.

At the hanger, Patricia meets with Lionel and offers the evidence in return for seeing Clark. She insists on seeing Clark face-to-face to verify he's the Traveler. She warns that if Clark is the Traveler, he's leaving with her. Pierce knocks her out and Lionel takes the evidence, and tells Pierce to return Clark home. Pierce refuses and draws a gun on Lionel, insisting that Lionel is endangering national security by protecting a meteor freak. He knocks out Lionel and turns up the kryptonite radiation to 100%. Kara bursts in and destroys the central control console with her heat vision. She tosses the cage aside, knocking Pierce out of the control room. Pierce grabs a gun and prepares to shoot them, but Lionel knocks him out of the booth and to the floor where he's impaled on the wreckage.

Later at the farm, Clark meets with Patricia and she gives him her father's journal. The notes in Kryptonian say that the Traveler will bring great change, and he hopes he can live up to all the prophecies. Patricia tries to reassure him, and then notes that Lionel had the other Veritas members killed to have Clark to himself. She warns him against Lionel and asks him again to come with her, but Clark says he'll deal with Lionel. Patricia takes an apartment in Metropolis to be there for Clark when he needs her.

Clark goes to visit Lionel in his office. Lionel claims that someone threatened Clark and he hid Clark away for his own protection. He claims he built the cage for other Kryptonians but Clark doesn't believe him and leaves.

Later, Clark is working at the barn and thanks Kara, giving her the bracelet. Clark is forced to admit that Lex and Lionel are both lost causes.

Patricia's driver pulls her car over on a bridge and shoots her dead. Later, Lex examines her bloody locket and the Veritas painting.

Season 7 - Episode 13 ( Hero )

Jimmy takes the amnesiac Kara to a gum factory being used for a performance of OneRepublic is performing, in the hopes of restoring her memories. Meanwhile, Pete Ross is a roadie for the band and goes to get them some gum. He grabs a piece, unaware it's contaminated with kryptonite. A speaker starts to fall and Pete spots it and stretches his arms, pulling Kara out of the way while Jimmy gets it on his cell phone camera.

The next day, Clark comes down to find Lionel meeting with Lana. Both of them advise against Clark telling Kara the truth and taking her to the Fortress. Clark wonders if her missing bracelet could prove to be the key and resolves to find it. Lionel leaves and bumps into Pete at the door. Pete is surprised that Lionel is there.

Kara goes to see Lex at the manor and thanks him for her efforts, and wonders about trusting Clark. Lex doesn't believe he can be trusted and Kara wonders if Clark is lying about her past. Lex vows to help her and asks about her missing bracelet. He reveals that the symbol on the bracelet matches others that have appeared around Smallville, and may be the key to her background.

Clark helps Lana load up her truck and then after she leaves, talks with Pete who is still chewing the gum. They play basketball and Pete finds out everyone who knows Clark's powers. He's not thrilled with Clark being involved with Lionel, who was responsible for the loss of his family company. Clark points out Pete's been gone for three years and wonders why he didn't call. Pete was reluctantly to keep in contact in case someone tried to get to Clark through him, and has been looking over his shoulder ever since because of knowing Clark's secret. He then demonstrates his newfound stretching power and admits he's thrilled to be a hero. Clark insists on reversing it and Pete figures Clark couldn't be happy for him. Clark warns that kryptonite warps people's mind, and Pete threatens to reveal Clark's secret if Clark goes against him.

At the Planet, Chloe discovers that she's been locked out of her computer files. She sees Jimmy's photo and recognizes him, and Jimmy said he has Pete set up for an interview to try to promote the cause of the meteor-enhanced. Chloe is reluctant to let the press get hold of Pete and offers to help rewrite his article. Once Jimmy leaves, she calls Clark to let him know what's going on. She then discovers that someone is uploading the photo… and in his office, Lex studies the photo. Chloe storms in and confronts Lex, but he tells her to find other work and dismisses her.

Clark goes to the gum factory and finds Jimmy there. Clark tries to convince him not to go public but Peter insists on trying to gain recognition for "meteor freaks." As Clark leaves he feels kryptonite and pushes aside a skid of boxes, revealing a kryptonite leak in the floor.

Pete goes to see Chloe at the Planet and demonstrates his powers, then offers to run interference while she tries to get her files back. Pete wonders if Chloe is feeling the stress of covering for Clark, and he insists he doesn't want to keep his powers a secret. He insists that other meteor-enhanced people are living a lie, striking a nerve with Chloe.

Kara goes through Clark's things in the barn when Lana confronts her. Kara asks Lana about the symbols and Lana denies knowing anything about them. Kara doesn't believe her and asks about the tattoo Lana used to have, admitting she got the info from Lex. Lana tries to warn Kara against Lex but won't tell her the truth. Kara leaves after vowing to find the truth on her own no matter what.

Jimmy arrives at the Planet and sees Pete uploading a virus from Lex's office to erase Chloe's files. Lex catches him and tries to convince Pete to join him, while Jimmy secretly listens in. When Pete rebuffs him, Lex demands that Pete help get the bracelet from Lionel's vault or he'll reveal that Chloe is a meteor freak.

Clark tells Chloe about the kryptonite-enhanced gum and how he destroyed it, and they discover that the Planet computers have been infected with the virus. Chloe figures Pete is responsible and Jimmy comes in to reveal where Pete is going.

Pete breaks into Lionel's office and uses his powers to slip his hand into the vault door and open it from the inside. He finds a case of kryptonite and then the bracelet, but finds Clark waiting for him outside. Clark warns that the kryptonite is affecting Pete's judgment but Pete shows Clark that Lionel was holding onto the bracelet. Pete uses the kryptonite on Clark to weaken him then leave with the bracelet, while insisting he's going to take Lex out of the equation, once and for all.

Pete goes to the gum factory to meet with Lex and start strangling him. However, Lex's bodyguard knocks Pete down and kncks the gum out of his mouth, and Lex demands the bracelet. Pete claims he never found it and Lex has his bodyguard beat it out of Pete.

Lionel returns to office and removes the kryptonite from Clark. Clark says they're going to talk but he goes to rescue Pete. Pete still says he doesn't have the bracelet and Clark arrives at superspeed to knock Lex and his man unconscious.

Later at the farm, Pete apologizes to Clark and Clark admits it would be nice to not have to live a life. Pete admits now he understands what Clark went through and blamed Clark for his own problems. Pete resolves to find another way to save the world. He goes to visit Chloe at the Planet and she insists he doesn't need to apologize. Pete tells her that he knows she has a power but doesn't have to tell him what it is. She gives him a hug and Jimmy sees them, and Pete admits he's going to not go public with his powers. Chloe has to reassure Jimmy that she and Pete are just friends. Jimmy in turn admits that there's nothing between him and Kara, and it's clear he still has feelings for Chloe. She agrees to have a cup of coffee with him.

Clark goes out to the barn and hides the bracelet in a lead box beneath the floor boards. At the manor, Lex gets information from an assistant that the stars in his family crest match a configuration on the day of the first meteor shower. There's something else, but they're interrupted when Kara comes in and admits she doesn't trust Clark and Lana and wants to stay at the manor rather than live with them at the farm. Lex just smiles and closes the door.

Season 7 - Episode 12 ( Fracture )

In Detroit, Lois and Lex run through the rain at a junkyard, tracking a GPS signal to find Kara. Lois goes off on her own while Lex finds Kara's wrist bracelet. Lois spots a powerless Kara locked inside a fence, who doesn't remember her, and Kara says a man locked up claiming to protect her. Lois goes to find something to get the gate open, but a man called Finley grabs Lois and holds a gun to her head. Lois breaks free and Lex and Finley exchange shots: Finley goes down with a bullet in his shoulder and Lex falls to the ground shot through the head.

Finley locks Lois up with Kara and Kara explains that she woke up in Detroit with amnesia, and got a job at the diner where Finley works.

At the hospital, Clark and Chloe arrive to meet with Lionel at Lex's hospital room after he's been medvaced from Detroit. Lex is in a coma and they've removed the bullet, but Lex may be brain damaged. Lionel has access to a Detroit cop who gave him a photo on Lois's phone show an injured Kara with Lex at the diner. After Lionel leaves, Chloe suggest she use her powers to heal Lex, noting nothing happened when she healed Jimmy.

Chloe and Clark go to Lana who reveals Lionel was working Project Intercept, which would let the interrogator enter a suspect's memories. However, the project was mothballed after three users died during interrogation. Clark believes he'll be invulnerable to the damage and decides to go into Lex's mind. They get Lionel to take them to the equipment and bring Lex along with them. The doctor in charge warns that the further Clark goes in, the greater the risk. They've programmed Lex's mind with a red door that will act as a mental "escape route" for Clark.

The procedure begins and Clark finds himself in a hallway with a red door at one end. Clark goes the other way and finds a window with a glowing figure on the other side. After Clark leaves, another figure looks out from the window. The young boy follows Clark down the hallway and watches as he goes into a room which becomes the diner where Kara is talking to Finley. Due to her amnesia, she's going by the name "Linda" and talks to Lex, not recognizing him. They chat and he suggests she leave but she doesn't know where else to go.

Clark is suddenly pulled back out where Lex grabs him and tells him to leave. However, the young boy knocks Lex out and identifies himself as Alexander. He says that Lex has been trying to kill him, the "weak" part of his mind. Alexander leads Clark through the halls to a hiding place and promises to find Kara for him.

While Clark's vitals start to drop, Clark finds young Alexander painting military figures in his bedroom when Lionel confronts the boy about breaking into his briefcase. Lionel tells him to admit what he's done but Alexander continues to deny it and finally says that Lillian went through his papers Lillian arrives and demands to know what "Veritas" is and demands to know what secrets he's keeping. Lionel throws her to the ground and storms out, while Lillian blames Alexander for telling on her.

Clark returns to the memory-room with the diner where Lex is giving Kara a St. Anthony's medal. He offers to take her to get treatment for her amnesia and she agrees, then goes to thank busboy Finley. Lois then comes in to confront Lex and says she's going to show Clark a picture she's taken of Lex and Kara together.

In the real world, the doctor determines that Clark's and Lex's brains are in sync and only Clark can get himself out. In Lex's brain, the memory-Lex confronts Clark and shows him Lana with Lex in bed during their marriage. Lex forces Clark to watch as they make love and Lana swears she'll always love Lex. Clark runs out and Alexander finds him and offers to take him to his friends. They run through more hallways and Clark finds himself in the junkyard as Lex and Finley shoot each other. Clark catches a glimpse of Lex's GPS and finds the address where Lois and Kara are. However, he goes into the hallways and finds Lex preparing to kill Alexander. Clark chooses to go after them.

In the real world, Lex fades and they only have four minutes to bring him back, or they'll lose both. Chloe arrives and Lionel explains what's happening, as the doctor says they've lost Lex. Chloe offers to save him.

Lex prepares to kill Alexander in a memory-representation of the manor when Clark barges in. Meanwhile, Chloe uses her power on Lex, Clark and "Lex" struggle but Clark has no special powers. However, Lex fades away as he revives in the real world. Clark heads for the red door but Alexander asks him to stay. Clark promises that he'll see "Alexander" again and makes him to promise the same, and to also promise he'll never stop fighting. Now that he knows the "good" Alexander is there, Clark promises to always look out for him. Clark then leaves through the rapidly fading red door.

Awakening back in the real world, Clark discovers that Chloe has collapsed while healing Lex. He tells Lionel not to get a doctor, then goes to the address he saw in Lex's memories. Meanwhile, Lois has got the gate open and she and Kara run just as Finley arrives. Finley finds them but Kara insists he kill her to get to Lois. Finley prepares to shoot her but Clark drops a pile of cars between them and then throws him into a pile of rubbish and speeds away before Lois can see him.

Back at the Smallville medical center, Lex is checking out and Lionel comes in to see him. Lex wonders how he was healed and Lionel claims he stole the healing technologies Oliver Queen developed and gave up the one remaining dose so that Lex would live. Lex is skeptical and Lionel says that he was afraid he'd never get the chance to tell Lex he loves him. Lex simply walks away.

Later at Chloe's apartment, Clark comes to visit as she has recovered… after not having a heartbeat for 18 hours. Clark warns that it took her longer to recover then the last time. Chloe insists it was her decision to make, but wonders if she's pushing her luck and wonders why she ended up with such an amazing gift.

Clark goes to see Lex and ask why he was in Detroit with Kara. Lex claims he tried to call Clark but Lana hung up on him. Clark is skeptical and admits he does care. Clark doesn't believe him and tries to get through to him before leaving… for now.

Later at the Talon, Kara is listening to one of her favorite songs but doesn't remember it, while Lex meets with her. He gives her her job back and she says that she feels like Clark is keeping secrets. She asks what happened and Lex says he grew up. He promises that once his treatment restores her memories, they'll have the truth once and for all.

Season 7 - Episode 11 ( Siren )

Chloe is working late at the Daily Planet using the computers to intercept a file, as a masked figure watches her from the shadows. As she burns it to disc, the figure throws a knife at her and Chloe runs outside, letting the person she's in contact know she's in danger. Chloe gets to the roof where the figure attacks her: a blond woman in black with a black band of makeup across her eyes. She draws a knife on Chloe, but Green Arrow arrives and pins her to the wall. She pulls free and as Green Arrow fires three arrows, the woman deflects them with a sonic blast. She then knocks down Chloe and takes the disc, jumps off the roof, and breaks her fall with a cable.

The next morning, Lana and Clark are at the Kent farm but things are still uncomfortable between them. At the Planet, Lois catches an elevator and trades barbs with new right-wing columnist Dinah Lance, a brunette, who tells Lois Oliver Queen is back in town. Clark talks to Chloe as she looks through files on female criminals and talks about how he's uncomfortable with the fact that Lana expressed her love for his phantom duplicate. Noticing her injury, Clark finally gets her to admit she's doing freelance work for Oliver Queen.

Clark goes to confront Oliver, angry that he put Chloe in danger. Oliver denies putting her at risk and notes they were hacking into Lex's projects. Meanwhile, the woman meets with Lex and turns over the disc, and he offers to pay her to bring him Green Arrow.

Lionel comes to visit Lana at the Isis Foundation and reveals Grant Gabriel was killed, and his suspicion that Lex was responsible. He wants Lana to get the evidence he needs using her spy footage. Lionel points out she held Brainiac's female victim hostage and has never told Clark. He leaves, telling her he'll be waiting for her to contact him.

At the Planet, Dinah Lance breaks into Chloe's desk and checks her phone call log, finding Oliver Queen's number. Clark comes to visit Lana as she goes over her spy footage, and asks her to see if she can connect Chloe's attacker to Lex. She doesn't recognize the woman, but confesses to Clark about the female technician so Lionel can't blackmail her. Clark is angry, and Lana says Bizarro was more affectionate to her and she can't live up to Clark's standards. Clark notes she keeps falling in love with killers and leaves.

That night, Lois goes to Oliver's penthouse to find him waiting for her with dinner. They start to reconcile but the woman arrives on the balcony and shatters the window with her "sonic scream." Oliver is knocked out, and Lois spots Oliver's secret stash of weaponry, broken open by the sonic scream, just before the woman knocks her out.

Lois and Oliver end up tied together and Lois is furious. The woman knocks her out and then accuses Oliver of being a terrorist. He denies it but she calls Lex and has him initiate the wire transfer… unaware that Oliver is using a hidden blade to free himself.

Clark visits Chloe at the Planet and apologizes for getting angry earlier. He then turns over the info Lana has gathered and Chloe realizes someone tapped into her activities at the Planet, from inside the Planet. Dinah Lance was the only one logged on and Chloe alters her photo to confirm she's the woman, who they nickname "Black Canary." Chloe locates the wire transfer and cuts it off. Black Canary goes to see Lex only for Clark to intercept her. Clark insists Oliver isn't the villain but when she attacks him she's bounces off. However, when she uses her sonic scream it overloads Clark's super-hearing, knocking him down long enough for her to escape.

Lana sneaks into Lionel's office and waits for him to arrive, and tells him she's not checking on Gabriel's murder. She insists she's going to be honest with Clark so Lionel has no hold on her, and she's going to try and turn her life around. Lionel doesn't believe her.

Clark and Chloe go to Oliver's penthouse where Lois tries to cover for Oliver. Meanwhile, Black Canary goes to see Lex and demands evidence about Green Arrow's supposed criminal activities. When she refuses, Lex shoots her but Green Arrow arrives and the two men fight. Black Canary arrives and takes out a guard, but as all three heroes shoot at each other, Clark arrives and deflects the bullets and arrows, then gets Black Canary away and lets Lex takes Black Canary's knife blade in the shoulder. Green Arrow walks out, wishing Lex better luck next time.

Later, Oliver is cleaning up the debris when Lois arrives. He asks for another chance but she admits she can't handle someone with a dual identity and regretfully leaves.

Clark comes to visit Lois at her apartment and she admits she still has feeling for Oliver. Clark tries to console her, but she has realized that Oliver's life is demanding and there's no room in it for her, so she broke it off.

Black Canary has set up a meeting with Clark and Oliver to apologize and retire from crime fighting. Oliver suggests it would be a waste and she should join up with his team. Clark again defers on joining up and Oliver strolls away with Dinah.

Clark returns to the farm to find Lana packing up to go stay with Chloe for a few days. Clark confesses to stealing a car and robbing an ATM, and admits it's not easy living with him. Lana says she's been acting a bit two-faced herself but doesn't think Clark thinks she's the one for him. He denies it but says he's going to do what he can to earn her trust.

At the Kent farm, Bizarro-Clark is watching Lana sleep. Thinking he's Clark, she wakes up and kisses him, and he suggests they go out and see the world. Lana declines and heads off to the Foundation, but promises to make him a special dinner. As she opens the drapes to let in some sunlight, it strikes Bizarro-Clark and causes him to transform into his rock like face. He gets her to close the drapes and come back to bed.

Grant Gabriel arrives to talk to Lionel and show him DNA tests confirming he's Lex's brother Julian. When he challenges Lionel, Lionel says he'd like to get to know him.

Lana is going over police reports at the Foundation when Bizarro-Clark comes in. She says that homeless persons have been turning up dead and she believes it's related to Brainiac. All of the bodies have been drained of their trace metals, the same as the LexCorp technician. Bizarro-Clark figures it's regenerating from the trace metals, and Lana triangulates the attacks to determine a possible central location. He hits the streets in the area, while Brainiac in his Milton Fine form drains a rat of the trace metals necessary. Bizarro-Clark confronts him and they both know who the other is. Bizarro-Clark admits he doesn't know what happened to the real Clark, but figures he's dead. He's come to Brainiac for help avoiding his transformation in sunlight, and Brainiac says there is a Kryptonian who can help years ago. The Kryptonian, Dax-Ur, came to Earth years ago and knows how to fix Bizarro. Brainiac explains each Kryptonian had a personal tracking unit, and if Bizarro finds it he'll find Dax-Ur.

Bizarro-Clark goes to the Daily Planet, where people are being fired by Lex Luthor. He asks her to help him find Dax-Ur, but she says she doesn't have time. He mentions the device and she wonders what happened to the one he found earlier, and she says she'll call him later. Bizarro-Clark realizes she's hiding something and almost harms her, but she refuses to help him.

Lex calls Lionel in and asks about Grant's visit and spar over what each of them do or don't know. Lex quickly realizes Lionel knows and Lionel condemns him for it before stalking off.

At the Kent farm, Lana returns to find Chloe waiting for her. Chloe tells her about her suspicions but Lana doesn't believe it. They're interrupted when Bizarro-Clark arrives and announces that he and Lana are leaving Smallville. Chloe, upset, leaves, and Lana tells him what Chloe said. Bizarro-Clark covers, saying Kara took it and Lana suggests it might be at the Fortress. Bizarro-Clark superspeeds to the Fortress and calls out to Jor-El, who tells him to leave. The Fortress starts to shake, and Jor-El frees Clark from his ice imprisonment to fight the phantom.

Clark returns to Smallville and tries to explain to Lana what happened. Once she accepts it he prepares to get her out, unaware Bizarro is listening. Bizarro goes to Brainiac to get help killing Clark, but Brainiac insists he is better off looking for Dax-Ur. When Bizarro insists on getting Lana, Brainiac offers to provide a distraction.

Clark goes to see Lionel who says it can be destroyed by blue kryptonite, which will boost Bizarro's power exponentially, causing him to explode. Lionel tells him to find Dax-Ur, a geologist who will have blue kryptonite, and that the shield Clark found will lead it to him. Lionel tells him to us sound recognition to use the shield. However, after Clark leaves, "Lionel" reverts into his true form as Brainiac.

Clark goes to see Chloe and explain, but she doesn't trust him until he steps into sunlight. She gives him the shield/tracking device, which she took from the farm. Clark uses it, and Brainiac senses it and knows what's happened. Clark disappears and finds himself at Arizona at a garage. He talks to the mechanic, using the name Dax-Ur, and the man feigns ignorance until Clark gives him the shield and introduces himself as Kal-El. Dax-Ur's human wife and child Grace and Max show up, and he shows Clark the blue kryptonite bracelet he's wearing to live as a human. Dax-Ur explains that he helped create Brainiac and agrees to call Dax-Ur.

Lana is at Oliver Queen's apartment when Bizarro-Clark arrives, but she spots his face in the sunlight and realizes who it is. She goes to get her bag and tries to call Clark, but Bizarro overhears her and insists he would never hurt her. He claims he came to care for her, but Clark arrives and tries to hit him with the blue kryptonite. Bizarro knocks him back while Lana grabs the blue kryptonite. Bizarro insists Clark won't commit to her and she agrees. She takes his hand… and hands him the blue kryptonite. He goes into overload and declares that he loves her, then blows up as Clark protects her with his body.

Dax-Ur is working late at the garage when Brainiac arrives and introduces himself, then stops Dax-Ur from removing his bracelet. He insists Dax-Ur fix him and takes the information directly from his mind.

Lex confronts Grant and fires him because he went to Lionel. Lex insists he's trying to protect Grant but Grant refuses to hear him out and leaves to have dinner with Lionel. After they eat and are walking through the streets, Lionel embraces him as his son. A mugger confronts them, takes Grant's wallet, then shoots him dead. The mugger flees the scene… and calls Lex to confirm that Grant is dead. Lex goes out into the rain and screams to the heavens. At the farm, Lana and Clark go to bed but things are tense between them.

Lois and Gabriel are secretly kissing but pause so that Lois can complain that Gabriel is telling everyone she’s doing an exposé on Lex Luthor. Gabriel says he’s glad to be promoting what will be their biggest story of the year, then says that Lex wanted Lois to write the story.

In the Daily Planet newsroom, Chloe is trying to call Clark, noting it’s been two weeks since the last time he talked. She leaves a message and complains about how people keep asking why he’s in Minnesota with his cousin. Lois walks in looking for Clark, who promised to repair her satellite dish. Chloe gives Lois a Christmas gift: all of her research on Lex. She then suggests Lois should thank her for convincing her to break off with Gabriel. Lois doesn’t respond but as she starts to open the envelope, she hears a cell phone ring from a nearby drawer. She answers and the man at the other end says he’s being ignored in his efforts to help her take down Lex Luthor. He then tells her that he’s secretly placed a bomb on Chloe and if Lois says anything, he’ll detonate it.

Lex and Gabriel are fencing at the manor and Lex wins. Lex has bowed out of a charity event to be with his brother, and Gabriel suggests that Lex have someone else do the story, warning Lois could come up with something incriminating. Lex insists he has nothing to hide and warns that Lois may find out about Gabriel’s real background.

Lois is talking to the man on the phone, who has identified himself as Adrian, and trying to get his story down. Adrian claims he is a clone who escaped from LuthorCorp, but his body is aging at an accelerated rate and he’ll be dead in a couple of days. While talking, Lois secretly types a message on her computer to Chloe telling her to act naturally, but Adrian has anticipated her and cut the Ethernet cable. It’s clear he’s watching her and Lois spots a suspicious-looking deliveryman hanging up his cell phone. Lois follows the man into a storage room and attacks him, but he’s innocent. The guy leaves, but then falls back into the room, a pair of scissors in his back. Adrian calls her and warns her to get back on the story or the next time, it will be Chloe who dies.

At the Kent farm, Lana is working with the horses when Clark arrives. She wonders where he’s been and he explains he was at the Fortress and time works differently there. He says he has no news of the missing Kara and they’ll have to move on. Lana insists that she’s dropped her obsession with Lex but Clark asks to see all the research she gathered on him. They go to the Isis Foundation and Lana’s secret surveillance room, and Clark insists its his fault for not opening up to her, and then she tried to protect his secret without talking to him. Lana reveals that Lex was talking about an alien invasion and a vial, but says she figured she destroyed it when she gained super powers. Clark insists that Lana couldn’t have destroyed it and they start working on her files about Project Scion.

Lois is at the Daily Planet trying to secretly pass a message to Chloe about the bomb, giving it to the mail lady. Chloe gets the envelope it’s printed on but doesn’t notice the message, and comes over to talk to Lois. As she does so, Lois gets a text message warning her not to say anything. Lois has no choice but to pretend nothing is wrong.

Clark and Lana go to a clinic where Lana is keeping Casey Brock, a LuthorCorp employee who was found suffering from toxic levels of metal poisoning and speaking in a weird language. Upon being informed that almost all of the natural minerals in her body are gone, Clark concludes that whatever infected her took the minerals for its own and then left. The woman starts speaking and Clark realizes she’s speaking in Kryptonian.

At the Daily Planet, Jimmy gets into the elevator with Chloe. It’s awkward as they try to make small talk about the Christmas party. Chloe finally notices the message on the envelope but shows it to Jimmy without saying anything. The elevator lights flicker and then the whole thing stops.

Lois spots the elevator with an out-of-service sign and Adrian confronts her. He warns her that if she does anything, he’ll activate the bomb on Chloe, then demands the story from her. In the elevator, Chloe is going through her purse figuring Adrian slipped the bomb into it hidden as something else. Jimmy notices some photos of the two of them that Chloe was keeping, which she hastily dismisses, and then a small gift box. Opening it, they find the C-4 explosive inside.

Adrian is going over the story and warns that he’ll be dead in a day or two. He remembers his own Christmas with his family but says the memories were implanted by Lex. He insists that Lois isn’t done yet and wants Lex to confess. Meanwhile, Chloe is trying to contact Clark on her cell phone while Jimmy holds her up to improve the transmission. She slips and steps on his hand, injuring his finger, and he wonders why she’s calling Clark. Chloe doesn’t really have an answer.

Adrian puts a hidden camera on Lois and keeps in contact with her through a hidden earpiece. He tells her to get the confession from Lex or he’ll detonate the bomb.

Clark and Lana are at the Daily Planet to find Chloe and decipher the code that Casey was speaking in. Lois goes into Gabriel’s office where he’s meeting with Lex. Prompted by Gabriel, Lois asks Lex about “Project Gemini” but he denies knowing about it. He starts to leave but Adrian tells Lois to mention his name. Lex reacts and Adrian tells Lois to get the gun out of her purse that he hid there. Lois demands the truth from Lex, but points the gun at Gabriel. She talks about the memories that Adrian mentioned, and Lex manages to knock her out and finds the hidden camera. Gabriel recognizes the memories as his and wonders how Lois knew about them. Lex finds the camera as Adrian barges in and it becomes clear that he and Gabriel share memories. Lex denies that Adrian was his first attempt at making a clone of Gabriel/Julian. Gabriel snaps at Lex, who responds by shooting Adrian. The weakened Adrian collapses, activating the detonator.

In the elevator, the bomb activates on a one-minute countdown. Jimmy and Chloe start banging on the doors but no one hears them. With the seconds counting down, Chloe decides to reveal that she’s a meteor freak and they kiss.

With 30 seconds left, Lana and Clark check out Lois’ computer and see the message she tried to send to Chloe early. Clark uses his superhearing to locate Chloe, then flies up the elevator shaft, then runs at super speed to the elevator doors. He grabs the bomb and runs to the top of the building where he throws it off into the sky to harmlessly detonate.

Lois wakes up in Gabriel’s office and Lex informs her that Chloe was rescued and Adrian escaped. Gabriel is gone, and Lex says he went to get help for Lois. Lex then announces that he’s now her boss, as he bought the Daily Planet.

Later, Jimmy confronts Chloe in the newsroom and wants to hear her explanation about the kiss. Chloe claims she’d kiss anyone in that situation but Jimmy is skeptical. He wonders why she had to wait until they were in a life-or-death situation to tell him the truth, and she admits she didn’t think he would accept her if she were a “freak.” Finally she demonstrates her power by healing his finger and asks that he keep it secret.

At the manor, Lex is conforming his purchase of the Planet and preparing to get rid of the “dead wood.” Gabriel comes in to confront him about Adrian’s claims that he’s an experiment, but Lex denies it. Gabriel insists he has free will and tells Lex to leave him alone, then leaves.

Lois is at her apartment when Gabriel arrives and says she’s still working for the Planet on Lex’s insistence. Lois thinks Lex plans to keep her stories from being printed, and Gabriel says that he’s breaking it off with her since it’s clear they’re being together isn’t a good idea. They have one more kiss before he leaves.

Chloe is at the Kent farm helping Clark decipher the Kryptonian code, and confirms it’s essentially an error message, the type you get when a computer tries to boot up and can’t. Clark wonders if the “program” is learning from its mistakes and will successfully boot up in the future. He thinks the black liquid-metal technology is responsible and it’s part of Jor-El’s Brain-Interactive Construct that wasn’t destroyed. As Chloe leaves, Lana comes in with Danishes as a celebration for Clark coming back, and he admits he loves her. However, as they embrace “Clark’s” face briefly reverts to that of… Bizarro. And in the Fortress of Solitude, the real Clark is frozen in ice.

Evening at the Kent farm and Clark is looking at the picture of his mother Lara when Kara arrives. Clark reveals that Lana is in Metropolis visiting with her aunt and admits he doesn’t know much about his mother. Kara promises to tell him more in the morning and goes to bed. Clark hears a female voice whispering from the barn and finds it coming from the crystal hidden there. The voice asks him to come save her and it teleports him to the Fortress. Jor-El warns that Lara is gone and the crystal is Zor-El’s creation and doesn’t belong there. Clark still hears the voice and plunges the crystal into the console. There’s a flare of light and Lara appears before Clark and the two embrace… unaware that a man is watching from hiding.

The next morning, Clark brings Lara to the farm but she doesn’t remember how she was saved from Krypton. Kara shows up and quickly realizes that Clark used the crystal, which he hid from her. Lara warns that Zor-El’s replicant must be somewhere nearby but Clark is confident the three of them can stop it.

Lois is trying to sell Gabriel on running her photo of the mayor with his mistress, but Gabriel isn’t impressed. They kiss and then she wonders if he hired her because he was attracted to her, and he admits he hired her because of her writing skills. Chloe arrives at the office and finds them making out on the desk. She quickly leaves before they can spot her.

Zor-El arrives to confront Kara in the barn, and he gives her a hug. He claims that he’s changed and they can all be together again, and asks her to trust him. She agrees and he tells her to go to the Fortress to wait for him.

Zor-El breaks into Lionel’s office and tells him to tell Kara to trust him. When Lionel refuses, Zor-El moves in for the kill but Clark arrives and drives him off. Lionel is taken away in an ambulance but not before warning Clark about Zor-El’s plans for Kara. Lois drops in on Chloe, who is furious about their relationship and warns nothing good can come from it. She warns that while she believes it has nothing to do with Lois’ employment other people will. Lois isn’t concerned but Chloe warns her she needs to break it off.

Clark takes Lara to Oliver Queen’s clock tower while Kara stands watch at the farm. Lara doesn’t want Clark to endanger himself and she believes she has nothing to worry about from Zor-El. Lana arrives and Clark introduces her to his mother, and Lara gives Clark Jor-El’s victory ring. However, when he dons the blue gem ring his eyes briefly glow blue. He goes outside and Zor-El confronts him, trying to sway him to his cause after noting that Kara told him where Clark was. Clark doesn’t believe it and attacks him, but is powerless. Zor-El tosses him away and boasts that he knows the blue kryptonite would strip Clark of his powers, and he set up the crystal so that Clark would resurrect Lara, who would give him the ring. Clark can’t remove the ring but Zor-El spares him on behalf of Lara.

Lara is having tea with Lana and tells her not to let the darkness within her overpower her goodness. Zor-El arrives to take Lara to the Fortress, tossing Lana aside. Clark arrives just as they fly away. Clark goes to Chloe for help, insisting that he needs to help Lara but that Kara has betrayed him. She agrees to get him to the barn.

Lex is shooting pool with Gabriel and asking him about his involvement with Lois. He warns Gabriel away from Lois, noting she’ll eventually figure out the situation. Gabriel assures Lex he can keep her in the dark but Lex insists, noting that Gabriel would be nothing without him.

At the Fortress, Kara is present when Lara and Zor-El arrive. The two women band together against Zor-El when he plans to harm Clark, and Lara offers herself. Zor-El responds by blanketing the sun with the Fortress’ equipment, planning to wipe out humanity. He offers to protect Clark if Lara agrees to be with him.

Clark is at the barn trying to cut off the ring without success when Chloe arrives with the book that holds the spaceship control key. An eclipse begins, even thought he next one isn’t for years. Clark realizes Zor-El is responsible.

Lois and Gabriel are at the Planet as the eclipse occurs, and Gabriel demands a meeting with her. She says they need to break up and he goes along with her… until they get to the door and start kissing again.

Lara finds a hidden dagger in the Fortress and prepares to kill Zor-El, but Kara insists on delivering the blow. Zor-El returns and claims he can’t find Clark, but Lara thinks it’s a trick. Kara attacks Zor-El with the knife but he easily stops her. He shoves away a protesting Lara and starts choking Kara, but Clark arrives with green kryptonite and weakens Zor-El. Kara directs him to the crystal and Clark leaves Zor-El to stop the eclipse. Lara tells him to destroy the crystal even though the resulting explosion may kill her. Zor-El revives and attacks Kara, and Clark destroys the crystal, causing all three of them to disappear and leaving him alone in the Fortress.

Kara wakes up on a rainy street in Detroit… with no memory of who she is.

Later at the barn, Lana tries to comfort Clark but isn’t sure if she’s good enough fro him. Clark reassures her that he believes in her.

Chloe talks to Lois about the story and tries to claim the eclipse was natural, but Lois doesn’t believe it. Gabriel comes in and Lois lets Chloe believe she’s broken it off with him.

Lex is talking with his experts about the eclipse and tells them to proceed as planned. Gabriel comes in to tell Lex he’s broken off with Lois, but Gabriel reveals all of the bugs that Lex planted on him. Lex apologizes, and tells them that no one can know, especially Lionel, that Gabriel is actual Julian Luther. Lionel gave Julian up for adoption as a baby, and would eliminate him if he knew.

Clark goes to the Fortress to confront the Jor-El program, but it claims that it wasn’t responsible for Kara’s disappearance. It’s disappointed that Clark hasn’t learned his lessons and warns that there will be consequences…
